"The primary purpose of this chapter is to protect the general public and persons working in the elevator industry from unsafe practices including those which tend to reduce competition or fix the price of services rendered. To meet these objectives, the Board:
- develops standards for professional competency
- promulgates rules and regulations
- adjudicates complaints against professionals and, when necessary, imposes disciplinary sanctions
The Board issues licenses to Elevator Mechanics who plan, estimate, layout, perform, or supervise the installation, erection, replacement, service, and repair of any elevator in any structure.
The Board’s statutory authority is in, 24 Del. C., Chapter 61."
